[Letter from John J. Herrera to Raul Perez - January 12, 1949]

Carbon copy of a letter from John J. Herrera, LULAC Regional Governor, to Raul Perez, President of LULAC Council of Kingsville, Texas, dated January 12, 1949. This letter is in answer to Perez's inquiry about topics to be discussed at the Texas Regional Convention to be held in Houston, Texas, on January 29 and 30, 1949. Topics are to include: the fifty-cent a month member assessment; and ways and means to advise the Legislature what action should be taken against illegal transportation and hiring of braceros in Texas. Also to be discussed was a proposed trip of LULACs to see President Truman about this matter and civil rights legislation
