Letter to Ed Idar, Jr. from an unknown source, informing Idar that John J. Herrera announced that he would be a candidate to the Legislature for "place 5 from Harris County." The author of the letter states that Herrera was convinced to run by "a group of businessmen, including Jewish and Negro Leaders." The letter also explains Herrera's platform to run for Legislature: "jury service for women, no sales tax, no tax increase of any kind, and he is very to backing up on the wetback problem as is possible within state Jurisdiction."
