An observational study occurs when the experimenter does not have explicit control over the assignment of subjects to treatments. A major concern in observational studies is the adjustment for the biases due to pretreatment differences. Propensity score matching is a commonly used method to remove bias in observed covariates, especially when the covariate is of high dimension. A vast literature has been discussing the propensity score matching under the bipartite setup. This thesis tries to extend the propensity score matching to the cases with more than two parts. The methods for matching with multiple doses, matching with one treated and two control groups and matching with time-dependent covariates have been developed with the aid of an ...
