The term for-profit social enterprise (or simply social enterprise ) refers to businesses with shareholder-owners that seek to address social problems by comp- bining the dynamism of capitalized for-profit enterprise with the intentionally pro-social orientation of nonprofit organizations .... Some leading proponents of social enterprise seek to promote and facilitate social enterprise formation through business organizations law, most notably by supplying social entrepreneurs with new legal forms designed specifically for social enterprises.
