Avaliação do risco de fungicidas para os organismos aquáticos - representatividade da sensibilidade das espécies padrão para outras espécies aquáticas não-visadas

The main objective of this study was to verify the relative sensitivities of taxonomic groups towards fungicides’ with different modes of action (MOA), and which species are the most appropriate to use as standard test species for fungicides in the context of environmental risk assessment of fungicides to aquatic ecosystems. Data could be collected for 86 different fungicides, for which Trel (relative tolerance) values were calculated. Data was divided according to the taxonomic groups: crustaceans, fish, primary producers and invertebrates, and the SSD curves were constructed using the calculated Trel values. Simultaneously with this taxonomic group division, the data of the 86 fungicides were also grouped by MOA, thus obtaining the information of which the most sensitive species for each mode of action for fungicides. It concluded that for most of MOAs, the most sensitive taxonomic group is the primary producers. It was hence concluded that the MOA of fungicides has an influence on the identification of the most sensitive taxonomic group
