Add to ORKGPolitical process is one of important ways to allocate resources in a society and a politician with high position may have a big influence in resource allocation. In this regard, this study examines the economic performance of regions that Korean presidents came from during their presidency. We use the data on regional GDP, unemployment rate and government permission of housing construction for Korea to study this issue and don’t find evidence that the regions where presidents came exhibit better performance than other regions during their presidency
