The steer has a banner proclaiming it a Champion at the Houston Fat Stock Show and Livestock Exposition in 1940. Kiger is holding the lead rope of the haltered steer in her left hand. Albert Peyton George is standing to her right. Four other unidentified men are standing behind the steer. The photograph was taken in the indoor arena.
