La formation du regard clinique

L’article examine la fonction des manuels pour l’établissement de la psychiatrie clinique dans l’espace germanophone (1875-1900). Il montre que les acteurs ont attribué à ces textes une fonction épistémique importante pour la formation d’un regard clinique. C’est pourquoi les psychiatres comme Emil Kraepelin se sont consacrés aussi au remaniement des manuels. La rhétorique qui caractérise cette littérature est liée aux positions nosologiques et à l’écriture de cas.The article investigates the function of textbooks for the formation of clinical psychiatry in German speaking countries from 1875-1900. It argues that textbooks were supposed to play a crucial epistemic role for directing clinical observation. For this reason psychiatrists like Emil Kraepelin devoted much time and effort to writing and rewriting textbooks. Their rhetoric can be linked to différents nosological positions and practises of case writing
