Dealing with dative and double object structures is one of the problems that has faced government and Binding theory (GI3). Although a few solutions have been proposed, a fully- fledged scenario of the analysis of the dative and double object structures has not been outlined yet. This paper outlines the advantages of the minimalist approach and how a plausible solution to the problem is attainable. A brief discussion of GB's major solution for the problem (Larson (1988)) will be presented. The major discussion will include examples from SA and English
