William Stringfellow perceived the power of death at work in the social wrongs of his era and throughout a fallen creation. He resisted death’s false idols and demands by living a biblical politics and an unrelenting faith. Stringfellow was a prophet whose life and theology were sacramental in their way, outward signs of Christ’s victory of life over death. Stringfellow’s life is a parable of hope.
