My project assesses the influence tuberculosis, the leading cause of death in the Western world in the nineteenth century, had on various aspects of culture in Victorian England. Despite the fatal nature of the disease, tuberculosis became known as a fashionable and sought-after disease. My lifestyle blog, The Tuberculosis Times, provides a guide to tuberculosis\u27 impact on fashion, beauty, entertainment, and news. In addition, my blog features Instagram and Twitter accounts to communicate the extent to which tuberculosis, and the desired tubercular aesthetic, became a cultural phenomenon.https://epublications.marquette.edu/dslgallery/1001/thumbnail.jp
