The optimization of human mental bandwidth is hindered by certain limiting factors - the human body, current technology, and society itself. Through the application of new data representation and conveyance methodologies, science can overcome these barriers to allow humans to do know and do more with less effort. This paper explores the historical methodologies through which science has worked to optimize mental bandwidth, and then discusses current research in the field
