Transgenic Animals

through advances in biotechnology, scientists have the ability to manipulate living organisms to possess genes from other species to create transgenic animals. such techniques have allowed scientists to observe disease pathways and test treatments, produce drugs, create food or organs for transplantation, and observe biological processes. however, these new concepts raise many ethical and legal debates, including animal welfare, environmental and public safety, animal patenting, and the impact patenting has on medical research. the author provides personal conclusions on these topics
