The goal of this project was to develop a computer-based system to test an erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA), produced by a fiber development manufacturer, to meet Telcordia specifications. The LabVIEW-based software utilized several types of test equipment to ensure standards are met, including output power, gain flatness, and noise figure. Preliminary analysis of the data received during an abbreviated test proved that the system was successful
