Engineering Lessons for a Sixth Grade Classroom is part of the larger Partnerships Implementing Engineering Education (PIEE) Project between Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and the Worcester Public Schools (WPS). The WPI students assisted WPS teachers in bringing engineering into the classroom by authoring and assisting in implementing a series of comprehensive units, which follow the Massachusetts Technology/Engineering Curriculum Framework. Within the units were lessons designed to prepare Massachusetts students for the MCAS, a statewide competency exam
