Uncertain knowledge must be communicated to the public, as environmental problems can potentially reach many people. Uncertainty communication is assumed by some to increase public trust in science and policy makers, by others to produce public panic. We have used focus groups for getting insights about this assumption and more generally about peoples\u27 attitudes following uncertainty communication, for the controversy on the effects of endocrine disrupters (EDs) on human male fertility
