This research project examines how being a part of an organized, high-level sport in college can affect academic performance. Does being a part of an organized college sport detract from or enhance the student’s academic performance? Can a high-level athlete perform both on the playing field as well as in the classroom? Preliminary research suggests that being a part of an organized sport has an overall positive affect on the athlete’s academic performance. I personally, used document analysis to collect the data for my particular research.
