This study examined the elements of effective praise and how these elements are demonstrated by a model teacher. Subjects included an experienced, third grade teacher and twenty-six students. The method of research included observation of the teacher\u27s and students\u27 comments and nonverbal communication. The data was analyzed according to various research findings on effective praise. The findings of the study focused on how one model teacher demonstrated characteristics of effective praise. The study allowed the researcher to apply literature on praise with a model and specific examples
