Esta nota tiene como objetivo actualizar la descripción de una técnica de obtención de muestras de sangre en aves. Actualmente, las técnicas utilizadas involucran la captura y manejo de los animales, y la extracción de sangre con agujas convencionales, lo cual puede causar estrés para el individuo. En este trabajo actualizamos la descripción y puesta a punto del uso de insectos hematófagos para la extracción de sangre en aves.
