Ce travail de thèse explore le premier mécanisme de conversion de lumière vers le haut qui a pu être mis en évidence pour un cation lanthanide dans le complexe moléculaire [CrErCr(L2)3]9+. Les propriétés photophysiques de chaque cation optiquement actif ont pu être étudiées séparément grâce à la préparation de la série isostructurale [MLnM(L2)3]9+ (M=Cr,Ga et Ln=Y,Er). Un mécanisme d'addition de photons par transferts d'énergie a pu être postulé pour expliquer la luminescence verte issue du Er(III) (540 nm), lors de l'excitation photonique de [CrErCr(L2)3]9+ dans le proche infrarouge (705 nm).
