Add to ORKGThe purpose of this research focused on the close relationship between music and emotion. In order to examine how emotions are evoked through music, the mechanism of musical expectations should be considered as playing an important role. This mechanism is strongly tied to the actual structure of the music which is essential when considering how music elicits emotions. Additionally, musical expertise is an important variable when referring to musical expectations. In order to test the effects of musical expectations on emotional processes, we have proposed several musical excerpts played by a professional pianist to 63 individuals (from violations of the structure of music and also their subjective feeling.
