Intellectual Property is Two Edged Swords to Innovation

In the era of Internet, high-speed wireless broadband and high-tech. industry, the Intellectual property issues shadow over the innovation concept. Of course, the success of managing the Intellectual property, in particular patent, has reached a significant stage where Intellectual property may exist to encourage innovation and guarantee the inventor’s right is protected by law. These massive of regulations in Intellectual property, however, have downside impacts (threaten) in innovation process. Discussion in this paper will attempt to review the intellectual property concept how it can be two edged sword to innovation. In other word, my research will cover specific aspects of the intellectual property that can affect neither negatively or positively innovation
