INTRODUCTION: It is known that smoking causes a complex dependency mechanism. There are several factors that can hinder the smoking cessation, among these one can highlight the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Thus, it is essential to know the behavior of these symptoms to enrich the treatment and intervention to smoking. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the behavior of anxiety and depression in individuals in the first month of tobacco smoke cessation.
