The aim of this study was to review the literature in order to discuss the main and the most effective therapeutic activities to control the nocturnal bruxism. To identify the studies included in this review, it was conducted a detailed and advanced search strategy in the PubMed and Medline databases. It was used as KEY WORDS: bruxism, therapeutics and drug therapy. Inclusion criteria were: case reports, randomized controlled trials, in vitro studies, literature reviews and systematic reviews with or without meta-analysis of the past 10 years that addressed the theme.
