O desenvolvimento da memória na educação infantil: contribuições da Psicologia histórico-cultural para o ensino de crianças de 4 e 5 anos

This study is about memory and the importance of its development for Early Childhood Education. Analyzing the trajectory of this initial stage of schooling, with support in the historical-critical pedagogy, we observed that this phase has remained apart from a refined knowledge, staying for a long time linked to the assistenctial aspect, specifically the pedagogical field. As for memory, we started by the premises of authors from the historical cultural psychology, who argue that childrens are able to develop their memories incorporating cultures and observing other. Our hypothesis is that the transmission of knowledge is an indispensable condition for the involuntary memory tums into voluntary, highly required, for example, in early literacy and in later years of elementary school. Therefore, we attempt to present how teaching promotes the improvement of mnemonic operations in four five year old children; and as such, by incorporating culture, they follow by themselves the same trajectory previously taken by humanity. To understand this, we studied how this psychological process was originated historically from the work activity, and how is manifests itself, particularly in animals and human beings. In the study, it was concluded that there is a contradiction between the defense of the act of teaching to promote this psychic function, and what really is offered to children in schools. This way, the school is critical for children to come into contact with the human productions and, by doing that, be inserted in historyEste trabalho aborda a memória e a importância que seu desenvolvimento tem para a Educação Infantil. Analisando a trajetória dessa etapa inicial de escolarização, com respaldo na pedagogia histórico-crítica, observamos que esta fase se manteve apartada do saber mais elaborado, mantendo-se, por muito tempo, mais ligada ao aspecto assistencial que, propriamente, do campo pedagógico. Sobre a memória, partimos das premissas de autores da psicologia histórico-cultural que defendem que a criança é capaz de desenvolvê-la a partir da apropriação de conteúdos. Nossa hipótese é que a transmissão do conhecimento é condição imprescindível para que a memória involuntária se transforme em forma voluntária de conduta tão exigida, por exemplo, no início da alfabetização como também nos anos posteriores do Ensino Fundamental. Assim, temos como objetivo apresentar como ensino promove o aperfeiçoamento de operações mnêmicas nos indivíduos com idades entre quatro e cinco anos; e como a estes, ao se apropriarem da cultura, seguem, individualmente, a mesma trajetória percorrida anteriormente pela humanidade. Para compreender tal percurso, estudamos como esse processo psicológico se originou historicamente, a partir da atividade de trabalho, e como se manifesta, particularmente, nos animais e seres humanos. No estudo, concluiu-se que existe uma contradição entre a defesa do ato de ensinar, para a promoção dessa função psíquica, e o que realmente é oferecia à infância no âmbito escolar.
