Influência da geometria oclusal e material restaurador na carga para fratura e distribuição de tensões em coroas totais

This study assessed the influence of different cuspal patterns of total restorations provided by the database CEREC CAD/CAM system (Young, Asian and Adult shape) on load-to-fracture of two restorative materials (resin or ceramic). Sixty anatomic total crown preparations in G10 (customized Dentin Substitute) were scanned with CEREC and divided in three groups according to the occlusal pattern from CEREC database with different cusp heights: Young (Y), Asian (As) and Adult (Ad). Each occlusal pattern was machined with two different types of materials: one with a low-elastic modulus (6 ± 0.5GPa) CAD-Waxx resin (R) and another with a high-elastic modulus (63 ± 0.5GPa) VITA Mark II ceramic (C). The G10 specimens were embedded in polyurethane and artificial alveoli were simulated using a polyether. All crowns were cemented with resinous dualcure cement and stored in distilled water for 24 h. The specimens were load to fracture using a universal testing machine (EMIC- DL1000MF) with a load-cell of 1000 kgf at a crosshead speed of 1.0 mm/min. The fracture type was classified in five patterns: 1 (involving the central sulcus), 2 (involving distal-lingual and distal-buccal cusps), 3 (involving the lingual cusp), 4 (involving the central and lingual sulcus), and 5 (crown fractured in several parts). Load fracture means were analyzed with ANOVA and tukey's tests(5%). ANOVA two-way showed significant differences for the tested factors and for their interaction (p < 0.05). The means ± SD and results of tukey's test were: R/Y- 2007.0 ± 345.0a, R/As 742.6 ± 142.0b, R/Ad 1139.0 ± 132.0c, C/Y- 454.2 ± 77.5d, C/As 590.9 ± 94.3b, C/Ad 1149,4 ± 201.0c (different letters mean significant differences). The Adult pattern showed predominantly type 1 fractures for CAD-Waxx and type 5 for VITA Mark II. For the Asian pattern, type 3 was predominant for both materials. For the Young pattern, similar percentage for type 1 and 2 for CAD-Waxx, While for VITA.....Este estudo avaliou a influência de diferentes padrões de altura de cúspides de restaurações totais fornecidos pelo banco de dados do sistema CAD/CAM CEREC (Jovem, Asiático e Adulto) na carga para fratura de dois materiais restauradores (resina acrílica e cerâmica). Sessenta preparos para coroa total em G10 (tecido de fibra de vidro impregnado com resina epóxi substituto personalizado da dentina) foram digitalizados pelo. Os corpos-de-prova foram submetidos ao teste de carga para fratura utilizando uma máquina de ensaios universal (EMIC - DL1000MF) com célula de carga de 1000 kgf a uma velocidade de 1.0 mm/min. Diferentes tipos de fratura foram obtidos e então classificados em cinco padrões: 1 (envolvendo o sulco central), 2 (envolvendo cúspides disto-lingual e disto-vestibular), 3 (envolvendo a cúspide disto-lingual), 4 (envolvendo sulco central e sulco lingual) e 5 (fratura em diversas partes). As médias e valores de carga para fratura, dados em Newton (N), foram analisados estatisticamente por meio dos testes ANOVA e Tukey (5%).
