Shenipabu Miyui: literatura e mito

Due to the potential indigenous contribution to the Brazil’s cultural and literary scene and considering the scarcity of academic studies about narrative comprehension and poetic creations that have the Brazilian Indian as author / creator, the current research contains an analysis of a group of twelve narratives, included in Shenipaby Miyui, gathered between 1989 and 1955.The narratives are authored by the Kaxinawá Indians - given that they come from oral tradition - and the volume was organized by the indigenous teacher Joaquim Mana Kaxinawá.The mythical narratives that compose this work were narrated in versions both in the indigenous language Kaxinawá and in the Portuguese language and were, in this case, told by Indians that mastered the white people’s language.The current research works with only the ones that were told by the Indians themselves in Portuguese.This work basically encompasses three topics: a) discussion about the configuration, in Brazil, of what we can call author indigenous literature; b) myth study, aiming specially at its characteristics as literary and cultural matter, focusing on indigenous myths, that go through a process of migration of orality to writing, in order to help conserve its stories and habits; c) analysis of mythical narratives, composed in Portuguese, of Shenipabu Miyui, considering these texts as literary or aesthetic works; showing, in the stories, how the integrative vision of the world (kaxinawá) happens, mainly through strongly present metamorphoses ; and analyzing the protagonist’s trajectory, thus showing the similarities and specificities of these texts in relation to other popular narrativesDiante da potencial contribuição indígena para o cenário cultural e literário brasileiro e tendo em vista a escassez de estudos acadêmicos voltados à compreensão das narrativas e criações poéticas que têm o índio como autor/ criador, a presente pesquisa apresenta uma análise de um grupo de doze narrativas, contidas na obra Shenipabu Miyui, elaborada entre 1989 e 1995. As narrativas são de autoria coletiva dos índios Kaxinawá - dado que elas são provenientes da tradição oral - e o volume foi organizado pelo professor indígena Joaquim Mana Kaxinawá. As narrativas míticas que compõem a obra foram narradas em versões tanto na língua indígena Kaxinawá quanto em língua portuguesa, sendo, nesse caso, contadas por índios que dominavam a língua dos brancos. A presente pesquisa trabalha apenas com essas últimas - as quais foram narradas pelos próprios indígenas em português. O trabalho abrange basicamente três tópicos: a) discussão sobre a configuração, no Brasil, do que podemos chamar de literatura de autoria indígena; b) estudo do mito, visando-se principalmente suas características enquanto matéria cultural e literária, com enfoque nos mitos indígenas, que passam por um processo de migração da oralidade para a escrita, de modo a favorecer a conservação de suas histórias e costumes; c) análise das narrativas míticas, compostas em português, de Shenipabu Miyui, considerando esses textos enquanto realização literária ou estética; mostrando como se dá, nas histórias, a representação da visão de mundo (kaxinawá) integradora da realidade, principalmente através das metamorfoses fortemente presentes; e analisando a trajetória das protagonistas, apresentando, assim, as similaridades e especificidades desses textos em relação a outras narrativas popularesFundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo (FAPESP
