Dinâmica populacional do camarão sete-barbas Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) (Decapoda: Penaeidae) na região costeira de Cananéia, extremo sul do estado de São Paulo: subsídios científicos para adequação do período de defeso

According to fishing statistical data of the State of São Paulo in the year of 2012, Xiphopenaeus kroyeri was the second most captured species by the São Paulo fishing fleets, being Cananéia the second region in the state to have the highest fishing production of this species. In order to have a more sustainable manner for exploring the fishing resources we need a clear understanding on the information regarding the reproductive biology of the species coupled with more studies on the population dynamics and on the recruitment of these organisms so exploited by fishing. The aim of this work was to investigate the growth and longevity of the individuals, the sexual maturity, the recruitment and reproductive periods, and the sex ratio of the X. kroyeri in the Cananéia region. The shrimps had been captured monthly from July/12 to December/13, in seven different points, using a commercial shrimp fishing boat equipped with an otter trawl type net. Sampling effort was 30 minutes/trawling. The environment factors had been monitored using an Eureka multiparameter probe. The individuals have been quantified, measured (carapace length CL mm), gendered and tested for their gonadal stage. The female were significantly bigger than the males (♀15.8± 4.4 mm e ♂15.6± 3.1 mm) corroborating with the standard pattern for the Dendobranchiata shrimp. Furthermore, the parameters obtained in the growth analyses also presented differences in relation to gender, and the female coefficient growth (k) was lower than those of the males. It has been observed that both genders take around four months to reach the minimum capture size (♀17.9mm and ♂15.8 mm), using only the adult individuals for this calculation. O manejo e a exploração dos recursos pesqueiros de maneira sustentável exige um claro entendimento sobre a biologia reprodutiva das espécies, além de um maior número de estudos sobre a dinâmica populacional e o recrutamento de organismos tão explorados pela pesca, como é o caso desta espécie. Desta forma, investigou-se crescimento, longevidade, maturidade sexual, período reprodutivo, recrutamento e proporção sexual de Xiphopenaeus kroyeri em Cananéia, SP. Os camarões foram capturados mensalmente de julho/12 a dezembro/13, em sete pontos, utilizando um barco camaroneiro equipado com rede de arrasto “otter trawl”. Os fatores ambientais foram monitorados utilizando a sonda Eureka. Os indivíduos foram quantificados, mensurados, analisados quanto ao sexo e averiguados em seu estágio de desenvolvimento reprodutivo. As fêmeas foram maiores que os machos (♀15,8±4,4mm e ♂15,6±3,1mm), corroborando com o padrão proposto para os camarões Dendobranchiata. Os parâmetros do crescimento também apresentaram diferenças com relação ao sexo, sendo as fêmeas maiores, apresentaram coeficiente de crescimento (k) menor, resultando em uma longevidade maior que a dos machos (♀1,81 anos e ♂1,61 anos). Observou-se que ambos os sexos demoram cerca de quatro meses para atingirem o tamanho mínimo de captura (♀17,9mm e ♂15,8mm), o qual se utilizou para o cálculo somente os indivíduos adultos. O valor da maturidade sexual estimada, incluindo na análise todas as categorias demográficas foi de ♀15,8mm e ♂15,5mm.
