The general problem to which this study was directed was the effect upon attitude and achievement of eighth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students, some of whom were underachievers themselves, tutoring other underachieving elementary school students. In order to analyze this general problem, answers were sought to the following questions: Will the tutors demonstrate greater improvement than pupils in the control group in specific attitudinal and achievement areas?
