Pengaruh Motivasi, Kompetensi dan Kompensasi Terhadap Kinerja Mengajar Dosen STAIN Ponorogo

The purpose of this study is to determine (1) the effect of motivation (2) competence (3) compensation and (4) motivation, competence and compensation on Lecturers’ Performance in STAIN Ponorogo. This study employed quantitative approach. Ex-post facto was assigned to be the research design. Population in this study was 108 lecturers at STAIN Ponorogo. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling, so 83 respondents assigned to be a sample.. Questionnaires in likert scale form were applied to collect the data. Since the hypothesis is intended to find the effect of each variable, namely, motivation, competence and compensation on lecturers’ performance simple linier regression was applied. Furthermore, for multiple linier regression by using SPSS 19.00 for Windows was applied for revealing the effect of motivation, competence and compensation simultaneously on lecturers’ performance The findings showed that (1) there is significant effect of motivation (X1) on lecturers’ performance and the equation regression is Y = 61.700B + 0,084 X1. Then, (2) competence (X2) effect significantly on lecturers’ performance and the equation regression is Y = 13.540B + 0,339 X2. Next, (3) there is significant effect of compensation (X3) on lecturers’ performance and the equation regression is Y = 55 204 B + 0.203 X3. Lastly, (4) there is significant effect of motivation, competence, and compensation simultaneously on lecturers’ performance and the equation regression can be formulated as Y = 8.318B + 0.076X1 + 0.328X2 + 0.091X3. It entails that B is constant at 8.318 represented other factors influencing lecturers’ performance beside the three variables discussed in this research. It implied that all alternative hypotheses are accepted. Each independent variable namely, motivation, competence, and compensation give various contributions to the lecturers’ performance as dependent variable. Among three independent variables, competence contributes the highest effect on the lecturers’ performance, followed by compensation and motivation. The results of this study can be a reference for the various institutions for improving the performance of both lecturers and employees in an educational institution.
