Communication Studies Faculty of Social and Political Sciences University March Surakarta. 2016 Infotainment fulfills mass media function as entertainment and information. The program covers the news regarding celebrity. One of celebrity cases that attracted public attention is the sexual abuse committed by Saipul Jamil which was broadcasted from March to July 2016. The news of the mass media has its own reality. The mass media does not only provide fact-based information but also builds their own reality. In the construction of reality, some things are made outstanding, while others are blurred. Infotainment itself also has its own construction of reality as it is part of news program. Entertainment News NET TV and GO SPOT RCTI are examples of Infotainment programs on private television in Indonesia. Both of them broadcasted a case of sexual harassment by Saipul Jamil. The analysis on the news reporting used framing technique analysis. This research used descriptive qualitative method, which aims to determine how the reality is constructed in reporting the case of sexual abuse by Saipul Jamil in Entertainment News NET TV and GO SPOT RCTI as Infotainment programs. This study used the framing analysis method by Robert N. Entman by dividing into 4 structural analysis. They are the Define Problems (Defining the problem), Diagnose Causes (Estimating the problem or source of the problem), Make Moral Judgement (Making moral decisions), Treatment Recommendation (Emphasizing settlement). The result of this research is both Infotainment see Saipul Jamil Sexial Assault case as a law volation. GO SPOT also added as moral prbolen that create victim’s trauma. Both Infotainment constructiong Saipul Jamil as the offneder of the sexual assault case.
