Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá signální dráhou PI3K/Akt/mTOR a jejími inhibitory v terapii nádorových onemocnění. PI3K jsou enzymy účastnící se mnoha buněčných procesů jako je apoptóza, proliferace, buněčný růst a metabolismus. Deregulace signální dráhy PI3K prostřednictvím amplifikace nebo mutace PI3K, ale i dalších genů signální dráhy, vede ke vzniku nádorového onemocnění. Práce poskytuje informace o všech izoformách PI3K, signální dráze PI3K/Akt/mTOR a terapeutickém potenciálu PI3K inhibitorů v léčbě nádorových onemocnění. Velké množství PI3K inhibitorů je součástí preklinických studií a některé z nich byly již vybrány pro studie klinické.
