PERTUMBUHAN POPULASI HAMA PUTIH PALSU PADA BEBERAPA PADI VARIETAS LOKAL

Leaffolder (Cnaphalocrosis medinalis) is one of the rice pests, which attacks on leaves, thus affecting the photosynthesis process and productivity. Some of local rice varieties has advantages such as resistance to a pest. However, resistance to leaffolder on each of the local variety is not yet known, so it is necessary to do studied. This study was conducted in 11 local rice varieties in the Karanglo, Polanharjo, Klaten during two cropping seasons. Rice varieties were planted i.e Rojo Pusur, Rojo Lele, Menthik Susu, Menthik Wangi, Pandan Wangi, Merah Segreng, Merah Klaten, Padi Hitam, Srikiti, IR64 and Menthir. Research variable consist of percentage of damage, population of larva and damage intensity. The incidens of attacks first growing season by leaffolders is highest in Menthir, Merah Segreng and Pandan Wangi, while second growing season in Merah Klaten and Rojo Pusur. The population of the leaffolder larvae found first growing season is highest in Pandan Wangi, while second growing season in Merah Klaten. The intensity of damage by leaffolders first growing season is highest in Menthir, Pandan Wangi and Menthik Wangi, while second growing season in Rojo Pusur dan Rojo Lele. The results of this study showed that the varieties of Hitam and Srikiti is resistance to C. medinalis with an attack incident, population larva and low intensity of damage
