The aim of this research is to study the effect of welding pin profile and preheating distance in friction stir welding (FSW) process on the mechanical properties and micro structural of aluminium sheet 5052 welded joint using depth of plunge 3,90 mm. FSW process uses milling machine and the welding tool material is Bohler K100 with hardness 59HRc. Parameter machine are used rotation of welding tool 1125 rpm, welding rate 60mm/minute with welding pin profile variation cylindrical, two flat side and three flat side and also preheating distance from 60 mm, 70 mm, 80 mm adn 90 mm.
