Research aims to review the role of from the city government of Surakarta in an effort to increase their own areas in the city of Surakarta. This research is a descriptive study using qualitative data consists of primary and secondary data. The data obtained by interview, documentation and observation. While the technique of taking informants by using purposive sampling and snowball. The validity of the data was moved at triangulation and triangulation methods to be analyzed using an interactive analysis. The research results show that a problem or impediments in increase the local revenue city surakarta the obstacles externally and internal.There should have been the role of from the city government surakarta to increase the local revenue in kota surakarta itself.A role that could be done by a city government surakarta to increase their own local surakarta itself are: 1. )A stabilizer; 2. )An innovator; 3. ) modernisator; and 4. )Implementing own.With the the role of from government in increase regional income, whether it is from the office of market management, the revenue office and financial management and local asset, and transportation department, communication, and informatics make local revenue in surakarta become increasingly rise so that development in the city surakarta can continue.
