Zusammenfassung : Der Charcot-Fuss ist assoziiert mit einer peripheren Neuropathie und tritt in der Regel bei Patienten mit langjährigem Diabetes mellitus auf. Das Krankheitsbild ist selten, kann zu ausgeprägten Fuss-Destruktionen führen und die Patienten im Alltag sehr beeinträchtigen. Die radiologische Bildgebung spielt eine zentrale Rolle während der gesamten orthopädischen Behandlung dieser Erkrankung. Insbesondere die Magnetresonanztomografie ist die Methode der Wahl zur frühzeitigen Diagnosestellung, zur Aktivitätsbeurteilung der Erkrankung im Verlauf und zur Detektion üblicher Komplikationen wie Osteomyelitis oder Abszessbildungen. Summary : Charcot foot is associated with a peripheral neuropathy as underlying condition and is most frequently seen in patients with long-standing diabetes mellitus. The condition is a rare but potentially disabling disease. Radiologic imaging plays an important role in the management of this disease.
