This paper by using the Long range Energy Alternatives Planning System (LEAP) evaluates the progress towards sustainability with long-term scenarios for the energy map of Southeast Balkans, particularly the three countries of Bulgaria, Greece and Romania. The main objective of this work is to examine and compare scenarios based on organizations reports, so that countries achieve the objectives of the European Commission (abating 40% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and 80-95% by 2050) and finally to observe the contribution of each country to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
