The practice of education research requires careful consideration of a number of ethical issues. Some of these are procedural requirements; others are principles for good practice; still others might be considered more philosophical in nature. This chapter foreshadows the individual contributions of this book by examining ethics in education research from the perspective of voice. Different research projects that the authors have conducted or supervised are examined from this perspective to highlight specific different issues that arise related to the notion of voice in education research. The chapter concludes by drawing on the analogy of reverberating echoes to illustrate the complex inter-connections between these issues
