AIMS: HSCT (hematopoietic stem cell transplantation) is a classic example of bone marrow microenvironment and HSC (hematopoietic stem cell) interaction. The role of bone tissue and endothelium in HSC trafficking has not been adequately studied in humans. The study of bone metabolism and angiogenesis during HSCT is the subject of the present work. PATIENTS AND METHODS: 29 patients (median age 38 years, males 66%, HL 48%, NHL 45%, MM 7%) were studied.
