The holotypes of Chelonoiclis gallardoi (Rovereto, 1914) from the Araucanian s.s., Huayquerian (Late Miocene) at Andalhualá (Catamarca Province, Argentina) and C.australis (Moreno, 1889), from the Montehermosan (Early Pliocene) at Monte Hermoso (Buenos Aires, Province, Argentina) are described.
