The main goal of this thesis was to develop porous, fibrous and polymer nanocomposites materials reinforced with either inorganic nanotubes or layered minerals. In order to create nanohybrid fibrous and porous polymeric structures, that can be used in various industrial applications, it is necessary to investigate the factors that affect their final morphological characteristics. For this reason, biodegradable porous structures composed by PLGA and organically modified montmorillonite (Cl15A) were initially prepared from melt-compounded co-continuous polymer blends via the selective dissolution of the sacrificial constituent (PS).
