Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) constitute a special waste category. This fact can firstly be attributed to the ever rising quantities at which they are being produced. Indeed, during the last decades the technological progress has led to advanced needs that require such devices, leading to multiplying quantities of them being put to the market. At the same time the rapid development of new technologies and applications make the upgrade or replacement of the devices inevitable after a short period of time.
