The scope of this dissertation is the development of one-dimensional titania (TiO2) nanostructures and afterwards their application in the Dye Solar Cells (DSCs). Titania nanotubes (TNTs) comprise an ideal candidate for the objectives of this research as: a) can be prepared easily by anodic oxidation of a titanium foil, b) permit to control their morphology through the electrochemical nano-engineering, c) provide unique electronic properties, such as vectorial electron transport. Then DSCs prepared and perused with the use of the TNTs as photo-anodes.
