The colo-rectal cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer in both the male and the female population and the second cause of death from cancer in the US. In recent years, however, there is a significant reduction of disease effect. This reduction in disease mortality is a result of progress in the prevention and early detection of cancer through preventive tests and improved therapeutic agents available to physicians. Colorectal cancer is a heterogeneous disease with a different therapeutic strategy for each patient. This strategy is determined by the stage of the disease and the biology of the tumor.
