[ES] Las vigas parcialmente embebidas (VPE) son elementos estructurales mixtos formados por un perfil de acero recubierto lateralmente con hormigón, desarrollados con el objetivo de mejorar la resistencia a fuego de las vigas de acero. Esta solución aumenta la rigidez a flexión y torsión de las vigas, mejorando, por lo tanto, su resistencia a pandeo lateral. Sin embargo, el Eurocódigo 4 parte 1-2 no plantea la verificación de la resistencia a pandeo lateral de vigas parcialmente embebidas no arriostradas en situación de incendio, ni existen estudios relacionados con la inestabilidad de estos elementos a altas temperaturas.
