Colistin, an antibiotic almost abandoned for intravenousadministration for many years, due to its reported toxicity, has beenrecently reintroduced in clinical practice due to the emergence ofmultidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria and the lack ofdevelopment of new antibiotics to combat them.
