This thesis examines the poetic work of George Geralis, a minor poet of the first postwar poetic generation. In this, literary integration issues are examined, also with poetics and critical reception of his work. In particular, Geralis’ relationship with symbolism and postsymbolism that survived in the work of some poets of the first postwar generation is discussed. Then, issues of format, language and versification are discussed, from the traditional poetry of his first to the modernist poetry of his later poetic collections. Furthermore, the thesis presents the key issues of Geralis’ poetic work, focusing on the theme of love and death, without detracting minor issues (e.g. political poetry, poetry itself or the alienation of modern man ...
