Differences in morphological awareness between good readers and dyslexic children

[ES]En este estudio nos preguntamos ¿cómo es la conciencia morfológica en los niños disléxicos? ¿Cómo contribuye la conciencia morfológica a la lectura y escritura?, ¿cómo se relaciona la conciencia morfológica con la fonología?. Para ello se han comparado niños con dificultades en lecto-escritura, con niños de la misma edad sin dificultades y niños más jóvenes equiparados en lecto-escritura. Los resultados indican que la conciencia morfológica de los niños con DALE es más baja que los niños de su mismo nivel, pero más alta que la de los jóvenes equiparados en lectoescritura. Además, la conciencia morfológica influye en la lecto-escritura en función del tipo de tarea. Y tercero, aunque la conciencia morfológica y fonológica están relacionadas, son dos variables independientes con distintos patrones de desarrollo.[EN]In this study we try to answer three questions: How does morphological awareness in dyslexic children manifest itself?. How does morphological awareness contribute to reading and writing?. How is morphological awareness related with phonological awareness? We have compared three distinct groups of children: those with difficulties in reading and writing, those of the same age but without difficulties, and children who are younger but with the same reading and writing level. To begin with, the data shows that the level of morphological awareness for the children with difficulties is higher than the level of the younger children. Nevertheless, their level remains lower than that of the children of the same age without difficulties. Secondly, morphological awareness influences reading and writing processes depending on the kind of task. Thirdly, despite the fact that morphological and phonological awareness are related, they remain different variables with distinct development patterns
