Nonlinear Static Analysis (Static Pushover or simply Pushover) is a popular analysis method for the estimation of seismic response of structures. It is integrated in many seismic codes and is utilized by engineers for the evaluation of seismic capacity of existing and new structures. Pushover analysis concerns the application of static seismic loads to the structure, gradually increasing in size, until a collapse criterion is fulfilled. Loading and response quantities like base shear and lateral roof displacement are used for the determination of the properties of an Equivalent Single Degree of Freedom (ESDOF) system.
