OBJECTIVES. We studied clinical, biochemical, virological and immunological characteristics of HCV infected patients on chronic hemodialysis for end stage renal failure and we compared them to those of otherwise normal patients with chronic HCV infection. METHODS. 73 HCV Ab(+) patients on maintenance hemodialysis and 87 otherwise normal patients with chronic HCV infection were evaluated for the presence of cryoglobulins, autoantibodies and viral markers.
